Kickboxing…CHECK!!!

I went to Kickboxing today! I got over my fear!

Before class, I kept complaining about how much I didn’t want to go. I felt like I was having anxiety. That the class would be too challenging for me. I was worried that the coffee that I had this morning was going to make me feel light-headed.

All that talking to myself had me going crazy. So finally I was like JUST GO. Do it!

I walked into the class and saw the instructor. I was like man oh man. He looks like a straight up boot camp instructor. He starts playing his music mix and I’m like alright not too bad…his music selections were great. I was dancing & singing as were doing our moves, lol.

So he started out with jumping jacks, jabs, push-ups and had us repeat them over & over. I did a total of 100 push-ups! We did jabs & hooks with weights in our hands, shoulder raises, endless kicks (he would come around & have his hand up and you had to kick to his level), worked on our balance, etc. It was a very intense class.

SO HAPPY THAT I WENT! Fear not, I will be back next week! He was fun and had me laughing. He’s a great instructor that means business, but he’s there to WHIP US INTO SHAPE!!

Yesterdays goal: CHECK!! I ran 2 miles on the treadmill..it was a breeze with my iPod. I did 80 modified push-ups last night & 5 regular ones. I’m making progress!

well done! glad you enjoyed the kick boxing: I have always wanted to try it but have always thought the same as you. I worry that I wouldn’t be able to keep up and would end up feeling silly….

But thanks to your blog I am going to see if there are any classes nearby that I could go to. I am swimming and walking regularly but think I need to do something like this for strengthening and really getting my heart rate going.

Thank you and well done :)

It is great facing our fears, isn’t it? I did the same thing and now I go to kickboxing 2 times aweek and step aerobics 2 times a week. it becomes addictive .Keep up the great work!!!
